Gold filled soldering: using a barrier flux
Get your torches out, because this tutorial is for all you metal smiths. Fire scale can be the worst when you are trying to solder gold filled material. Watch as Keeley demonstrates the proper technique and the materials used to prevent fire scale. You'll need a barrier flux (50% boric acid, 50% denatured alcohol), flux barrier, charcoal blocks, yellow-silver pre cut solder, and hand held jumbo butane torch. All of the items needed for this project are available in the store.
